Our Mission Supports the Galveston Police Department

In partnership with the community, we strive to offer supplemental resources to recruit officers to Galveston Island and develop innovative programs that make Galveston a safer place to live, work and visit.

Individual & Corporate Memberships

Donations made by individuals and companies, including Membership fees will fund programs including recruiting expenses, moving expenses, short term housing, assistance with jobs for spouses, advanced training, recognition awards, appreciation days and the like. 

Sponsor a K9 Unit

K9 officers are highly trained, four-legged heroes who play a vital role in policing—assisting with search and rescue, narcotics detection, suspect apprehension, and officer protection. Their presence increases effectiveness, saves lives, and helps de-escalate high-risk situations.

Sponsor a Mounted Patrol

The Galveston Police Department Mounted Patrol Unit plays a unique and vital role in community policing. These highly trained officers and their equine partners enhance crowd control, patrol high-traffic areas, and serve as approachable ambassadors between law enforcement and the public.

Seeking a Grant?

The Galveston Community Police Foundation’s primary area of interest is to assist the City to recuit the best officers and retain and provide ongoing training as well as provide complementary funds for essential equipment, special programs and projects. Officer safety is the Foundation’s top priority and other areas of focus will be decided each year in consult with the Galveston Police Department.
